  • Ovarian Cyst Symptoms - What Are the Ovarian Cyst Rupture Symptoms?

A cyst is basically a sac of fluid growing on any part of the body. In many cases, such as with ovarian cysts these can be completely har mless and they will come and go without you even knowing that they existed. This is usually what happens with ovarian cysts and many women will have them through their lifetime without even being aware.

However, as with many medical issues there are some complications that can arise with ovarian cysts that can cause a lot of pain to be felt. The cysts can sometimes grow quite large and put pressure on other organs in the body, they can grow on stems and cause them to twist and they can also rupture leading to severe pain and further complications. In this article we will look at some of the ovarian cyst rupture symptoms.

One problem, though, with identifying if an ovarian cyst is ruptured is that the symptoms are usually quite similar to normal ovarian cysts. That being said, the following are some of the most common ovarian cyst rupture symptoms:

    - Additional menstrual pain, particularly before and after they cycle.

    - Menstrual cycles may have irregular timing and lengths than normal.

    - Heavier bleeding than normal

    - Sharp, piercing lower abdominal pain when the cyst ruptures which can be particularly noticeable if there was no pain previously.

    - Bloating and abdominal pain as a result of hemorrhage.

    - Pallor or anemia due to internal bleeding.

    - More general symptoms such as dizziness, fainting and weakness which may suggest internal bleeding also.

If you feel that you are experiencing any of the aforementioned ovarian cyst rupture symptoms then, of course, a checkup with your doctor is vital before it becomes a critical issue and surgery is required.
